Ad Hoc Committee Letter dated January 14, 2007

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Hello everyone. Here's our temporary website set up in our attempt to establish a foundation for the purpose of raising funds solely to benefit and enhance the image and prestige of our alma mater, the Notre Dame Institute. During our meeting with the faculty, administration officials and ANDIA leadership last month in conjunction with our Class  Golden Jubilee reunion, we identified a number of issues, concerns and problems that can effectively be addressed through an alumni foundation

Please help us in this endeavor by volunteering to be one of the initial incorporators and identify all other alumni who will be willing to help in any capacity. It is our ardent hope that each alumni group from 1948 to 2006 will be represented. It is only through the cooperation of every alumnus that we could push through this philanthropic undertaking. It will be a foundation that will be organized and managed by all NDI alumni through a Board of Directors.

The ad hoc committee formed above is only temporary to explore the initial phase of the establishment of the foundation and to draft the articles of incorporation and subsequently apply  for 501 C3 tax exempt status in the United States. ANDIA, Inc. could be a subsidiary (www.501c3.org/nonprofit_incorporation.html.) in the Philippines. We encourage anyone who wants to be part of the committee to join and share with us your input. We are sure you are aware of the tax advantages  derived from such a tax exempt body.

Again, please bear in mind that the whole idea about this plan is for the benefit of our Alma Mater alone, nothing else.  Can we count on you?

Thank you so much,
Ad Hoc Committee

The Committee is inviting NDI Class 1948-2007
to be members of the Foundation.

  • April 28, 2009 – Foundation donated funds to NDI for computer tables in the amount of $837 as requested by  Mrs. Agnes C Pimentel, Principal.  Mr.  Silverio Mangaoang , Jr. was kind enough to advance the amount of 40,000 PHP so that fabrication of computer tables can be completed before the start of school year.  New donations are certainly needed.

  • June 12, 2009Opposition Rally to Proposed Baguio Garbage Fill in Aringay
“The parish pastoral council is spearheading a prayer rally on June 12 at 7 am (today, pinas time)  at the town plaza to protest the proposed baguio garbage fill in Salapac. The lady mayor who chairs the solid waste management is bent on realizing this project come what may. Despite stiff opposition from some politicians and from various sectors and employing counter- measures like the on-going public hearings, gathering of signatures for the petition signing, endless debates and mounting indignation by the people these efforts are seen as being railroaded by her office to their dismay. I was told that Fr. Romy Lopez with all the officers of the parish council and all the mandated organizations have joined in the signing of the petition.
Yesterday, Iwas told that the party of the mayor has invited all members of the Sangguniang Kabataan and the members of the association of barangay captains to the legacy resort in Sta. Rita  to sign a resolution but out of the 14 members of the SK, 11 did not sign the endorsement.  This controversial project was twice featured in t.v3 by abs-cbn baguio.their struggle is far from over knowing that they are challenging a person/persons of high positions with vast powers and substantial finanacial resources;hence, they are appealing to overseas- based kailians to go into text and e-mail blasting to create and raise awareness about the real issues back home, to convince and drum up support that this campaign is worth fighting for.most importantly, they are urgently requesting that we be united in prayers with them for the success of this common crusade.”
